;D What we have here is the NCC USS ENTERPRISE 1701-D from the NEXT GENERATION before it's re-fit. I am trying to find it as a model kit with the third warp nacell unit to make 3. I just thought that was so cool. Guess it's not available as of yet or I just can't find it. But this 1 here will be a great accomplishment if all goes well. But anyhows , here are the pics from the latest project now. Hope you all like and please , by all means, opinions greatly appreciated
Now these next 2 pics are as they come in the kit. It's all molded in a really light baby blue. The detail on this kit is incredible as you will see what I mean
What your supposed to do is paint the all insides with flat black paint so none of the lighting shows through the body. I did all that by hand on this kit. The next few pictures will now show the detail of this kit. What I did was get TESTORS STEEL and mixed it with very clean TESTORS THINNER and just went nuts. I just can't believe the look that this wash did. I did 1 in a black wash me and a friend and that looked hot too. But I looked at it and technically, the ship is made of metal and with this particular wash. it actually gave it that mettallic look. Imagine with all the lights in it and I actually went and bought more fiber optic strands to add even more lights than what the model calls for. It's gonna be sick. I just got to figure out the soldering method for all the wiring this entails. This is what I have accomplished as of tonight on this date in Sept. '06. Wow, 45 years young and still building ;D
I painted the base with TESTORS GLOSS BLACK. and this is all hand painted. No spray. Lovin it
Hope someone likes it.
