this is the first Polar Lights kit i've built, had it for years, but i'm not impressed. prehaps i'm spoiled because of the RM stockers, but this thing reminds me of a mediocre resin casting. nothing fits, not many true straight bits, body looks like it was in Bristol before it was molded... the 429 engine won't fit.... you only get the 429 on the decal sheet, even tho a 427 comes with it also... the rollcage is another story. no guide pin/holes just nubs... makes assembly different... back to the body, luckily this thing is white, 'cause the body isn't very true on the r/side. the r/driprail on the A pillar doesen't have the same molded features as the left side. again, i'm not impressed. i also have a couple ot the funny cars, haven't played with them yet. hope they are different. i'm done ranting...

I don't know about the stock cars because that's not my thing but I have built the Funny's and they are "All Right" typical fitment issues but nothing to cry about, overall I like them.

Weasel You have to do some massaging of the chassie to get the 429 engine to fit. The shock towers are too close together so they interfere with the valve covers, they have to be moved outwards to make room for the engine. You might also have to do some more adjustments to the headers and some other stuff to get the engine to fit properly. The bodys on both the Talladega and Cyclone surely has some issues. On the Talladega the front fenders are bent upwards and have to be fixed, otherwise the nose looks very strange. The Cyclone body is a bit crude in shape and has a slight upward bend on the front fenders and the wheel openings a bit too far apart so the wheels doesn't fit correctly in them, it looks like the chassie has to be lengthened slightly to fix that. The Charger stock car body looks kind of strange too so they haven't succeeded on that model either. The Polar Lights Stock Cars might not be the best engineered kits I've seen but they are the only ones available from that era and with some work they can look good. Polar lights should have marked them as skill 4 or 5 on the skill 1-3 scale since you have to be a very experienced builder to fix all faults on them. Forcefan
