ive been throwing ths idea around for a few weeks... I built the amt 69 daytona kit and it just didnt have the kick-butt feel i was goin for so i shreaded it and the only original parts are the glass, bumpers, and body. Im using the super bee p/s chassis, interior, dash, seat,engine,rims/tires and all of the suspention. Im going to paint it CheZoom teal in hopes it comes out like the tuquoise seafoam Iridecent used on 1969 mopars that color is so cool any way i would say im at least 1/4 of the way done and when my digital camera gets fixed i will post more updates ;D

if you sanded thru any primer, just touch it up... using lacquer primer i hope??? it goes on much thinner than enamel, lays down smoother also... then paint away...

That engine looks good.
I do have any of those but mostly any wheel back can be made to work with little to no modification.
