All true, but on the other hand, a guy who is good with PS such as yourself would be able to peel the layers from a photo-shopped picture. At least I've seen it done by a friend. We could make you photo inspector to make sure everyone is on the up & up. Is that possible ONEBADMK8? About the only thing I know how to do with PS is resize my pictures for safe dial-up consumption, and lighten them so they can be seen better. lol!

That's true.
I guess it could work.
But we really don't have that many ACTIVE people.
Most people that signed up haven't even posted?

Hmmm.. True boss. BUT.. it is picking up. It takes a bit for a forum to get established. I mean, I know I've brought at least 5 people here of which 3 post fairly regularly. I think once some interesting threads get rolling, the people will start posting. Also.. those of us who are active should maybe encourage our friends to take a look. Then once we get a few people hanging 'round, you can set-up a contest or CBP. What do you think people? I think this a great place and we can make this one of the best forums around. Let's get cracking people!

I think a contest, a CBP, or WIP contest is a great idea!! I am currently in an on-line contest over Naplak , www.naplak.com/modeling/index.html , this is his second contenst. Perhaps our admin. can contact admin for Naplak, and get some advice? ? Just an idea...... As far as the PS dilema, well since someone here knows alot about, perhaps he can police it, besides i believe in the honor system. I dont think this would be much of a problem. I would sugest if a stranger to the board enters the contest, then perhaps we can be more cuatous. Just dont want to offend, but still keep things fair!

I am going to research this a bit more. Sounds to be a good idea overall. Plus as long as we have known good people there shouldn't and more or likely wouldn't even be a hint of a problem.
What do you do for prizes and what not?
I have nothing to offer at all?

well, as far as prizes go, here is my my suggestion.... Perhaps the first few contests, until we get a larger reader base, you can put that graphics arts department to work and make some really certificates, 1st,2nd,3rd, and, in each catagory, if we have a few catagories. Then after a while, we can ask for donations, such as a kit for 1st, small AF paart for second, and perhaps paint or glue or brush's or something for 3rd. How's that sound??? I would be willing to donate some paint or a set of rims or tires......
What do you guys think???

Does there really need to be prizes? I think if our resident cheif and PS Wizard ONEBADMK8 were to whip up some sweet certificates for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, that would be a great start. Then how about opening/creating a Contest Gallery Forum and have each thread in the forum titled as per the contest theme or name, make it locked so it would be a winners gallery only and post a set of pics for each car with a small commentary in the first post (for each place) about who built it, paint, aftermarket items etc. That way, guests and members alike could view the gallery uninterrupted as they would at a show or in a showcase. Then create one more forum for contest winners discussion and within that forum, all of our comments and discussion regarding the contest and winners could take place.
What do you guys think?
