I am currently building a re-re-re-issue of the 68' Camaro from AMT. Heres the first 2 releases. I did have these two versions as a kid. This is the one I am building. Heres the body as of today. 2 coats of Testors Gold Metal Flake, 2 coats of Testors transparent Lime Gold Metallic. I am going for the total 70's look. www.lincolnmotorsport.com/camaro2.jpg[/img] This car is getting a 632 inch mountain motor from an early Monogram Pro Sportsman kit and a few other suprises!!!!! Thats it for now. Ill post some new pics in a few days.

Man... how did I miss this last night! That is probably the most awesome gold I have ever seen. It looks like real gold plating. Fantastic.

That color looks great!!! Here is my version of that Camaro model, I built it several years ago from the Street Machine release. I saw Penske's Sunoco '68 Camaro in a Hot Rod Magazine sometime in the late 80's or early 90's and I based this model loosely on that car, it's not ment to be a correct replica i any way but kind of a street version of the racecar. I bought the decals from Fred Cady a couple of years after the model was built and added them to the car, and I also added BMF at the same time. Forcefan

It actually doesn't look like Gold plating at all. In natural light it's more of a candy lime look. Next shots Ill take in regular light without the flash.

Thanks ONEBADMK8 As I said, that model was built many years ago and I have improved my skills some since then. I'm gonna try to shoot some decent pics of my later work and post them here any day now.

This is what I did last night. I was torn between some Cragar Supertricks from an old AMT "MoPower" funnycar kit or the Halibrands from the Monogram "Copout" funnycar kit. Well the dilemma is over I chose the "Copout" wheels. Please note it will sit a little higher then this.

Perfect choice on the wheels. They suit the car well. You are right, a touch higher stance would make it perfect. That thing looks tough! Eagerly awaiting updates!

Heres the latest as of Today for the 68. I painted the interior satin black, painted the seat flat black, added custom Simpson harness and scratch built roll cage. I added a chrome steeering wheel from an unkown kit. The suspension is almost done. I kept it simple. I was forced to use shackles borrowed from AMT's "Old Pro" Nova kit so the new meats would clear. I added disc brakes up front. I did the window trim and drip rail in BMF.

I highly reccomened this color.
The pictures do it no justice.
I would use copper as a base insted of the gold I used.

Never finished it yet. No time. Building the real cars hold me back on Modeling until the Winter.
