Heres a little tip I've been using with some success........... When I build an engine I assemble the block, heads, water pump, intake manifold, and any other cast iron parts. Then i spray the assembly with "Fax Fabric" or "suede" texture paint. Next install the oil pan, valve covers, and any other stamped steel parts. Then finally I paint the entire assembly in the desired engine color. This gives you an engine thats all the same color, but the cast iron parts have a rough texture, and the stamped steel parts are smooth.

Great tip raisin!! Now I just have to find Faux Fabric or suede paint here in Sweden. I haven't found anything like that here yet.

Great Idea! What I do is the same kinda, I use a paint that I know isn't for plastic, it tends to crinkle like real a Cast Iron finish! Thanks for the tip
