Hello...
Where can I get a "set" of car model making supplies? I used to build models a long time ago, but all the places I used to go to are gone.
Are there any online suppliers of modeling tools that are good?
Also, can anyone please make a list of the basic things I will need? Way back, the only specialized equipemt I used was a toothpick and sandpaper.

Wal Mart? Really? That's cool. Do they carry airbrushes?
I've dona a little research since my first post and figure I will need the following:
1. Dremel Tool and various cutting/grinding bits/wheels
2. Airbrush and compressor
3. Some kind of book on details...I want to learn how to make photo-etched stuff, maybe cutting open the doors/decklid.
The first model I want to make is going to be a replica of my 1969 Road Runner Convertible. Since there are no kits available for this, I found two AMT/ERTL GTX kits and I'm going to convert those into one 69 RR. There are a lot of things for me to learn as I do with this project.

I recently just got back into the hobby myself and have had the same problem finding supplies, Walmart does have some stuff that's where I got my airbrush and some paints but they don't have the selection that the hobby shop I used to go to had. If you find a good place to get supplies and custom additions let me know cause I'm struggling and making due. I have a couple of projects I'm working on one of which is with my 4 year old which is too cool . I also used to build a lot of models when I was younger and man I wish I still had some of the kits my favorite was a ranger stx. well I look forward to getting back to my old customizing body hacking ways in no time

I found a great resource the other day that pretty much took care of all my needs. Scale Auto Magazine. It's amazing. www.scaleautomag.comThe vendors in there have everything I could ever need.
