Who here waxes their models?
I purchased a MicroMark polishing kit about a year ago and have used it on a couple of models. The finish I have gotten is amazing, but I have read about people who still give their models a coat of wax.
Is the wax for protection from dust and stuff, or is it to enhance the shine?
Becuase after sanding with the 12000 grit, yes 12,000, and then the polishing compound, it is almos a mirror finish already.

I wax everything I paint. I painted 1/1 cars for years and I tend to use Automotive paint mostly laquer or base coat, clear clear on most of my builds so I use automotive polishes and waxes. My favorote polish is 3M Finnesse 3 and my favorite wax is Eagle One Nano Wax this stuff is the slickest wax I have ever found. Later Al

Hello Al, I have found something AMAZING!!!! You should try Ibiz. I have been in the detailing business for 5 years in the early 90's and I tell you what I have tried it all and to this day I have never used an easier or longer lasting wax then this.

I'm getting back into auto modeling along with aircraft. I've used Future floor wax on my winged models with great results. have any of you had any experience with the product on autos?
