Novus is a brand name and it's a two step polish, one fine scratch remover and one plastic clean and shine.

Yes it works great, the paint gets very shiny when polished with it. I read about Novus in Scale Auto a couple of years ago and I wanted to try it, I bought mine last year from a guy here in Sweden who imports it, I don't know from where though. Novus are made in USA, in Minneapolis MN to be exact, I don't know exactly where you can buy it but a well stocked hobby shop or model train shop might have it. The address to the company is Novus INC. Minneapolis, MN 55438.

With some work and lots of test fitting you can build a decent model of this kit. I almost gave up on mine when I had problems with it in the final assembly but I'm stubborn so I don't give up easy, it just had to mature on the bench for a while (about 1 year) until I finally finished it up.
Go for it!
