My Junkyard Diorama from start to finish.

Heres the fence Im building on half the groundwork. I even used my very own last Name on the sign. I made the sign in Photoshop 7.0 in a 600 dpi .jpg format. I then printed it on Kodak high gloss photo paper complete with a bass wood frame.

This sign will be TRASHED when Im done. the fence came out "OK" I guess, for my first one it was tough, took me 2.5 hours to make 16 inches?

Im going to dirty the fence up and hang junk on it and what not. It will be sweet.

Above is some good shots of the Beware Of Dog, Entrance and Trespassing signs. I made these in Photoshop 7.0. If you guys need any crazy or custom sign, I mean anything, I can do it on PS7, just name it.

Heres the third car in my junkyard.

Its another 67 GTX by Revell.

I dremeled off the front drivers fender and door as well as the trunk (Which will be getting custom made hinges and it will be posed open).

Im really rusting this one out bad!! Its been here forever! LOL!

Its also my first vinyl top attempt too.

This is tough decision making as far as the layout of the cars and parts go. What do you guys think of this layout?

Believeable?

The first car is an MPC Vintage 1985 "Royal Knight" 1/24 scale El Camino.







The Second car is a Revell 1/24 scale 1967 Plymouth GTX

For the under carriage I mixed yellow/red/flat black and mildly drybrushed with testors steel.

WOW!!! You are most definitely a very talented person. It looks amazing!! I can't wait to see this complete. As a collision repair guy for 30 plus years, I can tell you that the front impact on that GTX is nearly dead on. Very realistic! I see collision dioramas/models all the time, and while the work is usually very good, the damage always looks unrealistic to me. Having looked at wrecked cars since I was 4 years old, I can tell melted plastic from bent metal. The mistake most people make is the angles of the damaged panels are too "rounded". For example, when a hood folds from a front end hit, it generally doesn't look like a rounded hump, but rather an angular "kink", for lack of a better word. Lots of sharp angles should be replicated for a more realistic effect.

Very, very nice work! If you would like some shots of wrecked cars for future dioramas, just let me know. I have new ones every day in my shop. ;D

I did have a problem with the El Camino hood as far as kinks go, it's still a little rounded but I am going to tweak it still.

The rest of it came from a Google image search under "Wrecks"

There are a few more changes I want to make and I also have to figure out what trim style I want to use on the border to finalize it.

I want to make a HUGE junkyard dio this winter, something that will house around 20 cars.

My grandad has a junkyard and that is where i get most of my ideas he has this old escort with a boom for removing motors,rearends and other heavy stuff i am planning on replicating but using another type of car.
Oh i forgot can u make me a sign for mine i would but my printer is shot and the wifey won't let me go out and buy another one.
